Meal & Sacrifice: Scriptural Basis for the Eucharist
Meal & Sacrifice: Scriptural Basis for the Eucharist will be presented by Edmundite Father Michael Carter at the Essex Catholic Community Center at Holy Family Church in Essex Junction on Sept. 14 from 7 to 8 p.m.
This presentation traces some of the scriptural foundations for the Eucharist, from Genesis to the Gospels. Using important artwork from the rich heritage of Catholic material culture alongside scriptural citations, it seeks to contextualize the Eucharist as both a meal and a sacrifice, while arguing that all of creation points toward this sacrament which can inspire all the faithful to more fully live in the spirit of Christ’s mission.
