Today Gov. Phil Scott announced that churches may resume services at 25 percent seating capacity.

This is good news, but news that must be tempered with prudence. A church re-opening planning committee comprised of parishioners, medical professionals, pastors and diocesan leadership has been meeting over the last several weeks to prepare church re-opening protocols.  Our churches will open for the celebration of Mass and the other sacraments once protocols are finalized and implemented and we are confident that our parishes are prepared to safely open according to the CDC and Vermont Department of Health guidelines.

At this point, Burlington Bishop Christopher Coyne has set that date as Monday, June 1. He expects to confirm this date with an announcement within the next week.
