The Vermont Department of Transportation invited schools to submit names for the 250 snow plows in the state. In the fall, schools from throughout Vermont came up with names for VTrans snowplows in their local maintenance district.  The Department of Transportation had signs made for the plows that contain the plow’s name and the school that named the plow.  Several Catholic schools in the Diocese of Burlington participated, and Nov. 17 was “Snow Plow Visiting Day.” Each of the 250 snow plows with their drivers visited the schools that named that individual plow. Names include:

+ Bishop John A. Marshall School, Morrisville, Snowbegone Kenobi

+ Christ the King School, Burlington, Carl

+ Good Shepherd Catholic School, St. Johnsbury, Arctic Angel

+ St. Francis Xavier School, Winooski, Snowbusters

+ St. Monica-St. Michael School, Barre, Frosty the Snowplow

+ St. Paul School, Barton, Flurry the Snow Cow

+ The School of Sacred Heart St. Francis de Sales, Bennington, Perry the Plowerpus
