Want to help?
There are lots of ways that you can help with Totus Tuus in our diocese:
- Pray for this ministry! Pray for the children that will be served, the missionaries that will minister to them, the parish coordinators and pastors that will give up their time and energy to host the program, the parishioners and families that will host and feed our missionaries, and the diocesan leaders who will help organize and run the program.
- High school students? Become a high school helper. Parishes are always looking for volunteers to help monitor classrooms, give out snacks, prepare food, set up classrooms, help with recess, etc. during the day program. Please see the schedule above to find a parish near you and contact the parish coordinator to see how you can best help with the program.
- Adults? Parish programs have lots of ways for you to help. The needs of each parish are different, but a parish hosting Totus Tuus will typically need volunteers to be present during the day and evening programs, house our missionaries, feed our missionaries, supply cookies and snacks for the kids, and whatever else the parish coordinator could use a helping hand with. To learn more, please check the schedule above and contact the appropriate parish coordinator to see how you can help.

What is Totus Tuus?
Totus Tuus is a summer Catholic youth program dedicated to sharing the Gospel and promoting the Catholic faith through evangelization, catechesis, Christian witness and Eucharistic worship. The week-long Parish Summer Catechetical Program assists parents and parishes in the evangelizing and catechizing of their youth by supplementing the work they are currently doing.
Mission
The mission of Totus Tuus is to inspire in young people a true longing for holiness, a deep desire for daily conversion and an openness to their vocation by the constant challenge to give themselves entirely to Christ through Mary and by continually strengthening their prayer lives in imitation of her.
Motivation
Totus Tuus, a Latin phrase meaning “Totally Yours,” was the motto of Saint Pope John Paul II. Taken from St. Louis de Montfort’s “True Devotion to Mary” phrase, it signifies a desire to give oneself entirely to Jesus Christ through Mary. It also expresses an effort to give our all to every young person we encounter. Through the teams’ example of joy and service, the youth see that these men and women are on fire with the Catholic faith and long for the same thing in their lives.
Method
Totus Tuus calls upon college students and seminarians from across the United States to carry this mission to every young person they encounter. These young men and women are hired for their energy, enthusiasm, love of the faith, commitment to spiritual growth, ability to work with a team and a desire to work with youth.
How do we do it?
Teams of four–two men and two women–travel to a different parish each week, hosting a five day catechetical program for grades 1-12, similar to “vacation Bible school.” The week is filled with faith, fun and friendship. There are games, crazy songs, and (weather permitting) a big water fight at the end of the week! College-aged teachers provide an authentic witness to the students.
