Benefits of Counseling
Vermont Catholic Charities offers counseling services to individuals, couples, and families. Guided by the teachings and principles of the Catholic faith, we seek to offer hope, support, compassion and the opportunity for healing and personal growth. We believe in the importance of incorporating all aspects of the human person in counseling.
People seek counseling for many different reasons: a crisis, a loss, a major life change, to improve relationships. Counseling begins with an initial meeting to gather information and history in order to develop a plan to meet each client’s needs. Our trained and experienced clinicians are available to assess what you are going through and develop a mutual plan to offer practical solutions and help you reach your goals.
With the ultimate goal of improving quality of life, counseling helps people increase their self-esteem, cope more effectively with stress, and reduce isolation. It also helps individuals and couples to strengthen communication skills in order to build and sustain healthy relationships and live more
satisfying lives. All conversations with the clinician are completely confidential except when mandated otherwise by civil law. Each clinician is bound by and adheres to strict ethical standards of confidentiality.
